Privacy Policy

This website, blythewoodsmusic.com, is owned and operated by Baby Orion LLC (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what personal information we collect and what we do with it. The short version: we only have what you choose to give us, and we never sell it.

What we collect

Your email address, if you submit it. If you use the signup form, we store the address you typed and the date you sent it. Nothing more — we don’t ask for your name, and there is no account to create.

Your phone number, if you submit it. After the email step we offer text updates. That is entirely optional: skipping it changes nothing, and if you do give us a number you’ll get one text asking you to confirm before we ever send anything else.

That is the only personal information this site collects. There is no login, no comments, no advertising, and nothing we run sets a cookie. The two embedded players are not ours, though — see Embedded players below.

What we use it for

We use your email address and phone number to send occasional updates about Blythe Woods — new music, releases, and shows. We don’t use them for anything else. Message and data rates may apply to texts, and you can reply STOP to any of them to stop.

We do not sell your personal information

We do not sell your personal information. We don’t rent it, trade it, or pass it to anyone else for their own marketing.

Analytics

We use Plausible Analytics to see how many people visit the site and which pages they open. Plausible is built for privacy: it sets no cookies, does not follow you across other websites, and reports aggregate counts only, so we cannot identify you from it.

Embedded players

The home page embeds two players we don’t control: a track player from Tidal and the music video from YouTube. Because they load from Tidal and Google, those companies can see that a browser opened this page — including its IP address — and they may set their own cookies, under their own policies rather than ours.

We’ve limited that as far as an embed allows. The video is served from youtube-nocookie.com, Google’s no-cookie address, which holds off on the tracking cookies until someone actually presses play, and neither player is told which page it was opened from beyond this site’s address. We receive nothing from either of them: pressing play tells us nothing, and neither player is connected to the signup lists.

What they do with it is covered by Tidal’s privacy policy and Google’s privacy policy. If you would rather not load them at all, a browser or extension that blocks third-party frames will stop them, and the rest of the site works without them.

Bot protection and server logs

When the signup form is submitted, the sender’s IP address is held in memory for about a minute so a script can’t flood the form. It is never written to our database. Our host also keeps ordinary server logs, which can include IP addresses, for a short time as part of running and securing the site.

Who else handles it

A few providers process this information on our behalf, and for nothing of their own. (Tidal and Google are not on this list: they handle nothing of ours, and what their players collect is their own — see Embedded players.)

• Mailchimp — holds the email list and sends the emails
• Laylo — holds the phone list and sends the texts (their privacy policy, their terms)
• Neon — a backup copy of the email list
• Plausible Analytics — the analytics described above

We would also disclose information if the law required us to.

How long we keep it

We keep your email address and phone number until you ask us to remove them.

Your choices

Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can reply STOP to any text to stop the texts. Either one takes effect on its own — you don’t have to ask us.

To be removed altogether, email mgmt@blythewoodsmusic.com and we’ll delete your address and number and take you off both lists. You can also ask what we hold about you. There’s no reason to give and nothing to justify.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, we’ll update the date at the top of this page.
